COVID-19 Postponement Details
A note from Joe Robinson, Organizer:
EDIT: May 30, 2022: Here we are! Please bring your vaccine card and mask. Per state guidance, masks will be optional except during the large gathering during the keynote, and by presenter request. Please be kind and wear a mask if you're asked.
EDIT: November 1, 2021: We have a conference! June 2-4, 2022 with covid precautions in effect. All conference attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Exemptions will be granted with a letter from a currently licensed medical doctor (MD) only. No other professional may confer an exemption for purposes of the conference.
EDIT March 9, 2021: Well, here we are again! At this point, it's not possible to host a safe, well organized conference in June 2021. I continue to be committed to hosting the conference when it is possible and summer 2022 feels like a good bet. We will reach out to all presenters, attendees, and guests during the summer and fall of 2021 as we see vaccines administer and conditions developing. The conference is likely to look a little different but in spirit will be the same. In the meantime, happy firing!
I'm sorry to announce the postponement of the 2020 NW Wood Firing Conference, which was to be held June 4-6, 2020, at the Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg, OR.
But I'm excited to announce that NWWFC, as conceived, will simply be moved to the same weekend the following year, June 3-5, 2021. This is the best possible outcome considering the circumstances.
A small group and I have been working almost two years to put the conference together and we're deeply disappointed to postpone, but at this point it's more than obvious this is what's needed to protect our community members and friends. Potters more than many rely on the wisdom of elders and the mixing of people- and it's critical we all work together to keep our friends safe.
There are many details yet to be worked out, but here's where I am so far. Please feel free to reach out with questions, but also please be patient with me as I field an enormous volume of communications about this and several other wood firing events I'm responsible for.
Money, Rainchecks, and Refunds
The time has now passed for refunds of any kind for the conference. You are welcome to transfer your badge before the conference to a single individual. Please submit through the contact form.
